Meeting Needs

Here at First Baptist Bluffton we know there are people in our community and around the world in need. This is a sample of how we are meeting the needs we know of. Join us as we help our community and the world.

To help combat hunger, First Baptist Bluffton offers a food distribution ministry that joins with other Lowcountry area organizations in serving needy people in our community.  It is open on Saturday mornings from 9 till 11. Especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the Shepherd's Closet gives food baskets to many families who otherwise would not have a meal.
Many people living in our community have a huge need: the need to learn English. We can meet that need and reach them with the Gospel through English as a Second Language (ESL). Please join with us in praying that many people will find hope in Jesus Christ and that lives will be changed through this ministry. Free registration and classes begin September 7, at 5.30 pm, and will be meeting in the church office. There are three levels: beginning, intermediate and advanced. Awana for children will be meeting at the same time, so children can attend Awana while parents learn English.
